According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon is the top potential buyer for a new television series based on the books from Warner Bros. Television.
The project is still in its earliest stages as Warner Bros. attempts to finalize rights issues with the Tolkien estate. That said, Amazon has showed increasing interest in genre fare, so it would make sense if the show landed there.
