The comedy hit of the year has arrived too bad its makers think its a tragedy. Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson play stifled, stay-at-home parents who rail against the horrors of suburbia while clandestinely getting it on with other people; meanwhile, the local intolerants persecute a sex offender (Jackie Earl Hailey) to show how close-minded people really are. Many are actually taking this thing seriously, even though nothing in this movie even vaguely resembles reality. No matter: watching this incredibly sincere exercise in camp is more entertaining than movies that actually try to be funny. See it with someone sarcastic.
