At this point, Kid Cudi is as much an actor as he is a musician. The past few years have seen him rack up a pretty impressive array of film and television work, appearing in the indie horror movie X, the blockbuster Don't Look Up, Bill & Ted Face the Music, Westworld, and more, including the documentary A Man Named Scott

And now, Cudi is stepping behind the camera with Teddy, a Netflix film co-produced by JAY-Z that Cudi describes as "if I took the song 'Pursuit of Happiness' and wrote a movie about it." He added: "I added a lot of my own personal struggles and experiences in it, so this film is very close to my heart."

According to Cudi, the idea for Teddy first began percolating in 2013. Originally imagined as a TV series, the film "is a comedy" that features "some real shit." "It's trippy, it's fun, it's sad, it's life," said Cudi.
