She owns live television every weekend as a breakout star on Saturday Night Live, but Kate McKinnon's about to "take chances, make mistakes and get messy" for her next TV role.
The comedian will be stepping into the driver's seat of The Magic School Bus as Ms. Frizzle in a reboot of the popular educational kids cartoon. Dubbed The Magic School Bus Rides Again, the show's latest incarnation is slated to hit Netflix later this year.
McKinnon's inheriting the role from Lily Tomlin, who voiced the eccentric teacher and field trip guide in the original series.
The source material was a Canadian-American co-production based on a series of educational children's books. It followed the adventures of a class of students and their teacher as the show's titular vehicle transformed and transported them into pies, pickle jars and even their fellow student's bloodstream to learn about science first-hand.
With the addition of McKinnon, we're guessing this is a reboot that will get everyone — even Arnold — excited to learn.
