Yesterday, Donald Trump used his final moments as the president of the United States to pardon a handful of public figures including Lil Wayne, Kodak Black and Michael "Harry-O" Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records. A notable omission from his picks was Tiger King star Joe Exotic, who is pretty miffed about having to remain in prison.
Tweeting from jail, the disgraced former big cat owner born Joseph Maldonado-Passage proclaimed that he was "too gay" and "too innocent" to be pardoned by Trump.
"I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post," he wrote. "Boy, were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first."
Anticipating a pardon, Exotic's team arrived in a 38-ft "Monster Ram Truck" limousine yesterday (January 19) at the federal prison in Texas where he is being held. They had planned to take the inmate to McDonald's for McRibs upon his release.
"140 million Joe Exotic fans had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. We are as disappointed that the President did not sign Joe's pardon as we were confident yesterday that he would," his legal team said in a statement.
Maldonado-Passage is currently serving a 22-year sentence for his murder-for-hire plot to kill his arch-nemesis, Carole Baskin, as well as illegal wildlife trading and violations of the Endangered Species Act. Back in April last year, Trump declared that he would "look into" a presidential pardon for the unlikely viral sensation.
