Police in New South Wales, Australia, have launched an investigation into Jacob Elordi after the Saltburn actor was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with radio producer Joshua Fox, Variety reports.
As per Fox's account of the alleged incident, which he shared during the most recent broadcast of The Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS FM, the producer had approached Elordi in a hotel in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs to jokingly ask if he could have some of his bathwater to give host Jackie O for her birthday. Fox was, of course, referencing the viral Saltburn scene, which has inspired everything from cocktails to candles.
The actor allegedly asked Fox to stop filming him and delete the footage, after which the situation seems to have escalated.
“I refuse to because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence,” Fox said on the latest The Kyle & Jackie O Show broadcast. "And then Jacob kind of just flips and he kind of pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat.”
In a statement to Variety, the New South Wales police confirmed that they're investigating the matter.
“Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs,” the statement reads. “Police were told about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday 3 February 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not sustain any injuries. Inquiries into the incident is continuing.”
