Jack White is entering the world of "cinema." The musician will be appearing in Martin Scorsese's upcoming film, Killers of the Flower Moon — apparently in an acting role, rather than a musical one.

This tidbit comes from Randall Poster, who appeared on Brian Koppelman's podcast The Moment [via The Playlist]. Jason Isbell had already been confirmed to appear in the film, and Koppelman asked Poster if Isbell would be playing music, to which Poster said no.

Koppelman confirmed, "He's just acting only?" Poster responded, "Yeah, he's terrific in it. Jason Isbell, Jack White, uhh, oh, my god, who's [that] famous blues harpist, older cat, it's not Toots Thielemans — anyhow, there's like four musicians in the movie that don't play music."

Country songwriter Sturgill Simpson has also been confirmed to be acting in the movie.

Killers of the Flower Moon is a Western crime drama about a series of murders in 1920s Oklahoma. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone and Brendan Fraser. It's set to premiere at Cannes in May 2023.

White has acted occasionally over the years, including appearing in 2003's Cold Mountain and 2007's Walk Hard.
