Netflix recently announced plans to release Operation Varsity Blues, a documentary about the 2019 college admission scandal involving Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin and a number of other wealthy parents who tried to buy their children's way into college and went to prison as a result. Today, we get our first taste of the doc with an official trailer.
Directed by Chris Smith, who helmed American Movie in a previous life and more recently produced Tiger King and directed Netflix's Fyre Festival documentary, the film follows the methods used by mastermind Rick Singer to get wealthy children into top-tier colleges through fraudulent means.
As you'll see by the trailer, the doc pairs talking-head footage with reenactments.
Operation Varsity Blues premieres on March 17.
