Harrison Ford has sustained an injury to his shoulder while shooting a fight scene on the set of Indiana Jones 5. The 78-year-old actor will take a hiatus while he recovers.
A Disney spokesperson offered the following statement about the incident:
In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.
The full extent of Ford's injuries is not known.
Director James Mangold will continue to shoot the film while Ford heals. At this point, the film's release date is still July 29, 2022.
Alongside Ford, the action movie will also star Mads Mikkelsen and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Steven Spielberg is producing.
