Naya Rivera, who is best known for appearing in all six seasons of the hit show Glee, has gone missing. The 33-year-old actor was last seen at Lake Piru, which is located 90 kilometres south of Los Angeles, and police have spent the night searching for her.

According to the Associated Press, Rivera had rented a pontoon boat on Wednesday (July 8), which she had taken out on the lake with her four-year-old son. He was found alone on the boat wearing a life vest, and Rivera's ID was also on the boat.

Police launched a boat and helicopter search for Rivera, but had suspended it by nightfall. Divers from other agencies have joined the search today.

"We're going on the belief that she did go in the water and we have not been able to locate her. So this may well be a case of drowning," Capt. Eric Buschow said during a press conference.

Rivera appeared in 113 episodes of Glee. More recently, she lent her voice to American Dad! and appeared in the television series Step Up: High Water.

Stay tuned for updates on Rivera as they become available.
