HBO is currently airing the first season of its Drake-produced, Zendaya-starring teen series Euphoria, and the network must be pleased with the results. After all, it has just announced plans for Season 2.

The show, which follows a 17-year-old drug addict named Rue, is based on an Israeli series called HOT. Alongside Zendaya, who plays Rue, the series stars Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.

Of the show, HBO vice-president of programming Francesca Orci said, "Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya. We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series. We look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit."

There are still five episodes left to air in the first season of Euphoria.
