Song and screen legend David Hasselhoff declared himself a "True Survivor" earlier this year with the theme song to spoof flick Kung Fury, but now he's making headlines for news of a more personal nature. The entertainer announced that he has officially changed his name simply to David Hoff.
"I've been wanting to drop the hassle from my life for years," he explained in a YouTube video. Rather than going on a relaxing spa retreat for some me time, the actor took a more literal approach to cutting out the hassle.
The 8-second clip lasts just long enough to hear the actor make the announcement and see him hold up a framed certificate of the name change before ending without any further explanation (and, thankfully, without any hamburger eating).
