Toronto Raptors Coach Nick Nurse Is Now a Cop Solving 'Pretty Hard Cases'

The NBA Champion appears on the CBC show's season premiere tonight

Since becoming an NBA Champion in 2019, Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse has worn many hats β€” honorary Arkell, deeply knowledgable crate digger and Prince devotee among them. To open 2023, Nurse will now be outfitted with a badge as a guest star on Pretty Hard Cases

As part of the CBC cop comedy-drama's Season 3 premiere this evening, Nurse will join the squad as officer Nick Iowa, per his nameplate in the teaser clip seen below. The character's surname is a play on Nurse's home state, where he previously coached at the NBA development league and collegiate levels.

Nurse's Pretty Hard Cases appearance follows a guest spot on CBC's Murdoch Mysteries last February, so Canadian TV stardom isn't exactly a new game to him. Naturally, some were quick to tie his latest bit of acting to the recent struggles of the Raptors, who have only three wins in their last 10 contests.

Season 3 of Pretty Hard Cases begins tonight at 9 p.m. on CBC and CBC Gem, and you may find yourself tuning in depending on how Nurse and the Raptors fare in tonight's tilt with the Milwaukee Bucks.
