'SNL' Alumnus Jay Pharoah Teases 'Phornication' Mixtape with Beyoncé's "Freedom" Freestyle

Earlier this summer, we learned that Saturday Night Live cast member Jay Pharoah would not be returning to the long-running sketch show this fall. It turns out, though, that the comedian already has some other plans in place.

On the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet this past weekend, Pharoah revealed that he was prepping a new mixtape called Phornication. He told Billboard that Myles Williams and Roc handled production duties on the forthcoming project.

Despite his affinity for impersonating rappers like Jay Z, Kanye West and Drake during his time on SNL, Pharoah insists that his latest musical offering is no joke. "I go in," he said. "No holds barred."

You can hear the first example of things to come by giving Pharoah's "Freedom Freestyle" a spin in the player below. It hears him spitting rhymes atop Beyoncé's powerful Lemonade cut "Freedom."

Pharoah previously released a mixtape titled The Resurrection in 2014.
