After leaving at the end of last season, former Saturday Night Live regular and everyone's ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson is due to return to NBC's Studio 8H as a host.

Deadline reports that Davidson will make his way back to his old comedic stomping grounds for May 6's episode.

UPDATE (5/2, 6:09 p.m. ET): Davidson's episode with Lil Uzi Vert has been cancelled due to the Writers Guild of America strike, which began in the early hours of the morning.

The timeliness of Davidson's return hinges on the series he'll be there to promote. The actor is due to star in Peacock's Bupkis, which is fittingly produced by SNL boss Lorne Michaels.

So far, it remains unclear who will appear as musical guest on May 6.

Recent hosts include fellow alumna Molly Shannon, as well as Quinta Brunson.
