Eddie Murphy is revisiting his past. In addition to reprising his role in the upcoming Coming to America sequel, the legendary performer is now in talks to revive his standup comedy career.

According to TMZ, Murphy has been in talks with Netflix to produce an undisclosed number of comedy specials. If he does so, there is a reported $70 million USD on the table.

While that sounds like an absurd sum, Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock previously scored a respective $60 million and $40 million for their Netflix deals, respectively, so it's not entirely unheard of. Plus, with specials like Delirious, Murphy's standup has an enormous cult following.

Whether or not it's confirmed is yet to be seen, but it's hard to imagine anyone turning down that kind of cash to do some standup comedy.
