Young Widows

Settle Down City

BY Jasamine White-GluzPublished Aug 1, 2006

Instead of stumbling from the collapse of Breather Resist, the band sans lead vocalist Steve Sidoni, have become Young Widows. A dirtier, sludgier, slower version of their previous incarnation, Young Widows is a DC-inspired trip into post-hardcore. With hints of the Jesus Lizard and maybe even a little Helmet, Settle Down City doesn’t sound much like the band’s previous incarnation. Young Widows are more original, however perhaps less accessible. This is an adventure into noisy indie rock worth taking.
