Trunk Muzik 0-60 is a wildly inconsistent album. There are some absolute bangers ("Box Chevy," "I Just Wanna Party") and some total garbage. (The worst offender is "Marijuana," which takes a killer Nirvana sample and turns it into a pile of rap metal shit.) This kind of inconsistency acceptable for a first full-length, but not when we're less than 12 months removed from a mixtape that was straight-up dope, and even less so when most of the good songs on the album are rehashes from said mixtape. Of the 12 songs on Trunk Muzik 0-60, five of them were released on Wolf's January mixtape, also called Trunk Muzik. What's worse, those are five of the better songs on the album. Sure, a couple of the new additions are pretty fresh ― "I Just Wanna Party" is a fun chunk of stupid ear candy, while "That's What We On Now" sounds oddly like Aquemeni-era Outkast ― but a lot of the new material is just filler. Some of it is terrible ― again, "Marijuana ― but much of it ("Daddy's Lambo," "Billy Crystal") is average. If you were already feeling Yelawolf based on his mixtape work, Trunk Muzik 0-60 won't make you dislike him, but it won't earn him a ton of new fans either.
