Toronto's Women from Space Festival is returning for another year of programming this upcoming spring. A celebration of music innovation and gender diversity, the festival will be held at the Music Gallery at 18 Bathurst Centre, running from March 7 to 9, which includes International Women's Day (March 8).
The lineup for this year's festival will kick off with Toronto composer and improviser Allison Cameron on March 7. The first night will also see performances by Plastic Babies and the festival's own in-house large ensemble BIG BANG!, who will perform an homage to Nina Simone.
Other performers at the festival include electronic pop experimentalist shn shn, Rosina Kazi of Toronto duo LAL, multihyphenate Yuniya Edi Kwon, experimental electronic musician Arushi Jain, multi-instrumentalist Yuka Honda and more. The festival will conclude on March 9 with pianist and composer Myra Melford's Fire and Water Trio.
Tickets, as well as the full festival program, can be found on Women from Space's official website, with early bird festival passes starting at $30. Tickets will be sold at $38 after February 5, with individual advance tickets priced at $15 and $20 at the door.
