If you thought you'd heard the last of the feral hogs, you'd be dead wrong.
In a now-expired series of videos posted to her Instagram story yesterday, Shakira — international superstar, she-wolf in disguise, and now pig-related trauma survivor — said she was attacked by two wild boars while walking with her eight-year-old son in a park in Barcelona.
As translated from Spanish by BBC News, the videos feature Shakira saying: "Look at how two wild boars, which attacked me in the park, have left my bag. They were taking my bag to the woods, with my mobile phone in it. They've destroyed everything. Milan, tell the truth. Say how your mommy stood up to the wild boar."
The pop star's bag looks battered and dirty, but luckily neither Shakira nor her son was injured in the robbery.
Apparently, this isn't an uncommon occurrence in Barcelona — according to BBC, Spanish police received 1,187 phone calls in 2016 about wild hogs attacking pets, holding up traffic and causing car accidents in the city. The latest estimate for the European boar population sits at around 10 million.
Check out a YouTube video that archived the stories — and adds some music and threatening boar imagery for good measure — below.
