While Weezer haven't had the best of luck with their more recent SZNZ material, everybody still loves the Blue Album! The band are currently celebrating 30 years since the release of their seminal 1994 debut on the Voyage to the Blue Planet tour (which comes through Toronto this month) and now, as promised, they've announced a reissue of the record.
Blue Album (30th Anniversary Edition) is set for release on November 1 through Geffen / uME. It will be available in myriad collectors' sets, including a super deluxe 4LP (plus 10-inch and 7-inch) box set, which consists of 50 songs — including 36 previously unreleased recordings from early band practices, live shows, BBC radio sessions and more.
The reissue also features new liner notes by Karl Koch in issue No. 18 of the Weezine, with a bevy of never-before-seen photos. An ultra-limited edition of the super deluxe box set also comes with a knit sweater and a certificate signed by the band.
Of course, Blue Album (30th Anniversary Edition) also comes in simpler formats like a deluxe 3CD set and digital, as well as various 2LP and 1LP pressings of the remastered record.
