A snippet of the Weeknd's Kanye West-assisted "Tell Your Friends" had already made its way on the internet. Now, the full song has emerged along with a video.
The song mixes lush, bright piano progressions with the Weeknd's usual noir&B steaminess. The accompanying video similarly mixes the sinister with the uplifting, as singer Abel Tesfaye dances while involved in some rather sinister undertakings: namely, burying his own body in the desert and pulling a gun on cadaverous-looking man. The whole thing culminates in frightening explosions of noise as Tesfaye flees the scene in a car.
The clip was directed by Grant Singer. Watch it below.
Beauty Behind the Madness will be out on August 28 via XO/Republic. The album can be previewed as a sampler right here. Also be sure to check out his tour schedule, plus Exclaim!'s list of the Weeknd's five defining songs.
