Oakland, CA post-punk quartet Wax Idols are gearing up for the March 26 street date of their sophomore set Discipline & Desire, which is also their first album for Slumberland Records. While the LP's release is still a couple of months away, the band are offering a sneak peek via a stream of new number "AD RE:IAN."
Vocalist Heather Fortune may be homing in on the sadness she feels over a friend wanting to give up on life ("I'd do anything, everything to make you change your mind"), but the song should raise your goth-lovin' spirits. It rolls by on a fabulously minimalist two-note bass line and a "Bela Lugosi's Dead"-styled dub beat before exploding into an uplifting cacophony of sound.
