Unfortunately, no trains included

Singer-songwriter Geoffroy has shared a dreamy video for "Strangers on a Train," the second single from his upcoming album Live Slow Die Wise.

In a statement about the song, Geoffroy explained how he delved into his consciousness:

It's definitely one of the most introspective songs on the album. I guess it's a very mature version of myself who wrote this, hah. It's about accepting and coming to terms with the fact that a relationship has come to its end. It's about moving on, letting go, and feeling okay about it.

Filmed across the indie artist's home province, the video highlights Quebec landscapes in all their stunning glory. Geoffroy ushers us from sunset to dusk to dark of night — with a particularly haunting glimpse of a luminous crescent moon.

The Montreal artist eludes us, obscured by waves or hidden in shadow, mirroring the song's lyrics: "We'll put on different faces / Act like strangers on a train." The final note fades in harmony with a light flickering on a lake, like a promise.

The single, alongside the previously released track "Cold World," offers a taste of what's to come with his forthcoming record, which will be released on January 19, 2022.
