Mastodon are due to deliver eighth studio album Hushed and Grim at the end of this month, and the band have shared another single from the effort.

"Teardrinker" follows the previously shared "Pushing the Tides," and arrives alongside a video directed by Lorenzo Diego Carrera. In it, Mastodon enter a warehouse and take turns pulling glinting orbs from a mysterious blue box that allows them access to a different dimension — one they may be closer to than they realize.

As previously reported, the David Bottrill-produced Hushed and Grim arrives October 29 via Reprise Records.

Following 2017 album Emperor of Sand, the new effort was partly inspired by the death of longtime manager and friend of the band Nick John.

Of Hushed and Grim's album art, drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor explained in a statement, "Essentially, to be brief, [the tree] is an afterlife mythology that when you pass away, your spirit goes into the heart of a tree and then experiences all the pillars of your in successions of the seasons that the tree experiences. That is the way you're able to say goodbye to the natural world and move on to the next dimension. You can see a green man in the center of the tree — the heart of the tree — and that is our good friend and manager Nick John, who passed away, unfortunately, a couple of years ago."
