Last we heard, Mastodon were eyeing a fall release for a new studio album, and if some new social media teasers are any indication, the rollout for their eighth full-length has begun.

Today, the band have shared fragments of the detailed artwork seen above. Piece them together, and it forms the image teasing something called "Hushed and Grim."

While Mastodon have yet to confirm if "Hushed and Grim" will be an album or single, a retail listing points to a 15-song LP of the same name arriving on October 29 through Reprise.

Mastodon's forthcoming new album will follow 2017's Emperor of Sand, and the band had previously shared that writing sessions for their latest left them with "too much material."

In March, guitarist Bill Kelliher shared that the band were "halfway through the mixing [process]," calling the album their "fullest" and "biggest-sounding" recording to date.

Last year, the band shared that they had completed recording sessions with Grammy-winning Canadian producer/mixer/engineer David Bottrill, recognized for his work with ToolMuseDream TheaterRush and more.

2020 also saw Mastodon serve up compilation Medium RaritiesBill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack contribution "Rufus Lives," and some wild cooking videos.
