We deemed Mastodon's 2021 double album Hushed and Grim the grandest realization of their artistry to date, and the Atlanta outfit have now shared a documentary on the making of their eighth studio LP.
Directed by Bryan Bankovich and produced by Newmerica, the 90-minute The Making of Hushed and Grim features behind-the-scenes footage and sit-down interviews with all four members of Mastodon, producer David Bottrill and more.
Along with humour, the doc also examines the heaviness that influenced the album's creation — chiefly, the death of Nick John, Mastodon's longtime manager who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2018.
Mastodon's Hushed and Grim documentary arrives ahead of the band's North American tour alongside Ghost and Spiritbox, which includes a trio of stops in Canada.
