A couple of UK musical icons joined each other on stage earlier today in Liverpool. Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker interviewed Paul McCartney for a special presentation dubbed "Paul McCartney in Casual Conversation."
The event was livestreamed via Facebook and took place at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, which Macca himself founded. The building had previously housed the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, which McCartney attended as a lad, and he recounted tales from back then to Cocker.
The pair later delved deep into the process of songwriting, with the former Beatle revealing what he thinks makes a "successful" song.
He also reflected on his recent experience shooting Carpool Karaoke with James Corden in his hometown of Liverpool, as well as his passion for art collecting.
Watch the full hour-long interview below.
McCartney's next album Egypt Station is due out September 7 via Capitol Records. See his upcoming tour dates here.
