In between penning true stories about his life, Dave Grohl found time to get involved in yesterday's hour-long iHeart Living Room Concert for America, dedicating a Foo Fighters favourite to frontline workers of the coronavirus pandemic.
From isolation in Hawaii, Grohl performed an acoustic version of "My Hero," dedicating it to "everyone on the front lines doing their best to get us through all of this."
Hosted by Elton John, the iHeart Living Room Concert for America also featured performances from Billie Eilish, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw and more.
All performances were shot with the artists' personal cellphones, cameras and audio equipment "to ensure the health and safety of all involved."
You can find performances from Grohl and Armstrong (who played Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams") below, along with a complete continuous stream of the event.
Musicians at all levels are turning to livestreaming as COVID-19 continues to upend the music industry. Follow Exclaim!'s list of Canadian music and film events affected by coronavirus.
