The thing with compilations is that they’re most often hit-or-miss affairs. Certain bands will appeal to some people more than others, but that’s not an intrinsically bad thing. Bands from the metal, punk, indie and everything in between genres are represented here, which means there’s pretty much something for everyone. However, as one cohesive album it’s lacking; it’s easier to just skip to the tracks you like, making repeat listens unlikely. All but five of the 43 songs have been previously released, which might deter some people from picking this up. Also included is a DVD that features some particularly amusing music videos from bands like Scary Kids Scaring Kids and Set Your Goals, among others. There’s also an enhanced CD feature that contains some information and links to various resources.
