Metal Mania 2004 documents another year of Poland's biggest metal festival with main stage video footage and a companion CD of side stage acts. Variety rules over depth — the line-up ranges through bands as diverse as Krisiun, Enslaved, MSG, and Soulfly, but none get more than three songs. The cameras are almost always in motion and the sound, for the most part, is clear and balanced. Special treats include Tiamat's performance of "The Sleeping Beauty" with Fernando Ribeiro of Moonspell and the wealth of extra background info on the fest and each band. The whole shebang should keep you head-banging for hours.
