Hot Topic has provided a half decent mixed CD/DVD combo. The first disc includes music from notable post-hardcore/metal artists such as Chiodos, Every Time I Die, the Human Abstract, August Burns Red, Job For A Cowboy, Converge, Poison The Well, Horse The Band and the Fall of Troy. The only realistic problem with a mixed CD is that anyone who would find this line-up of bands interesting likely already has them in their iTunes library. However, the DVD portion provides some great videos. A live documentation of Chiodos’s "The Words Best Friends Become Redefined” demonstrates how a live show should be captured, with impeccable video footage and editing. Some of the more fun videos include Every Time I Die’s "We’re Wolf” and Silverstein’s "If You Could See Into My Soul.” The standout music video is the Chariot’s "They Faced Each Other.” In this video, over 10,000 pictures were taken, with 4,000 used to create a rigid, chunky viewing of the band doing what they do best: playing their asses off. Naturally, it all can’t be good and Alesana and Escape The Fate might have a thing or two to do with some incredibly lame, or plagiaristic, videos.
