This One Goes to Eleven... takes its name from the classic rock mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, but this compilation actually focuses on sounds of a more hip-hop and electronic nature. It comes from long-running Toronto blog Different Kitchen and is being released to celebrate the site's 11th anniversary.
The comp features original and unreleased material from artists who have been featured on Different Kitchen, as well as Exclaim.ca, over the years. This includes local rapper King Reign (featuring Saukrates), Bronx rapper Mickey Factz, Aussie soul duo Audego, 2013 Harbourfront Soundclash winner Brendan Philip and more.
Different Kitchen curator Ian Steaman said in a statement, "The album came out exactly the way I was hoping: different, creative & quality showcasing incredible artists who may not be getting as much shine as I think they deserve which is why I started the blog in the first place way back in 2003. Also, as a (now) Toronto-based site, I'm really happy that over half the artists featured on the album are from Canada."
Appropriately, given that this is an 11th anniversary celebration, the album is being released on August 11 at 11:11 a.m. EDT. It features 11 original songs, plus two bonus cuts.

UPDATE: You can now also watch the new video for compilation cut "Pi (Brahma Built)" by Jai Nitai Lotus at the bottom of the scene.
