Considering the internet (including Exclaim!) was briefly fooled into thinking Vampire Weekend's upcoming third LP would be called Lemon Sounds, we're a little leery at jumping to conclusions, but the band may now be hinting at the album's real title via a new cryptic animated gif.
The band's official Tumblr page is currently hosting an acronym-laced image just dying to be decoded. It's easy to interpret "VW" as Vampire Weekend, as well as the lines hinting at the impending LP (LPIII), its release year, 2013, (MMXIII, naturally, being roman numerals for the year) and the nod to XL; what's less clear is what "MVTOC" actually stands for, but it's likely this is the album's title. The acronym previously appeared on the artwork and band photo the group put up on their website's front page.
