U-God (aka, Golden Arms) is now calling himself U-Godzilla. He has also estranged himself from the other, some might say, better skilled members of the Wu-Tang Clan. This is a warning Wu fans: avoid this album at all costs. U-God disappoints throughout, spitting monotonous narcolepsy-inducing rhymes that fail to live up to the albums title or surpass the verse he ripped on "CherChez LaGhost. Moving in every direction all at once, he struggles to find himself without the protection of RZAs scientific aesthetic. And whats with the "Don King Speak to U-God skit? King just rambles incessantly about how he loves the "Yu Tang Clan and you can't hear half of what U-God is saying. Occasionally the production, handled by DJ Homicide, Letha Face and the Produkt, shows signs of life, setting rocks raw power riffs up with hip-hops drum & bass-heavy production. Too bad U-Godzilla delivers nothing in the way of a quality rhyme, disrespecting his namesake (Godzilla) and drawing attention to the absence of devastating, building crushing lyrical couplets.
