We never got the dream Dave Sitek/Raaaaaaaaandy mixtape we were promised in 2010, but now the TV on the Radio/Maximum Balloon multi-instrumentalist has lined up an arguably weirder collaboration, as Sitek plans to sit in as the bassist for Jane's Addiction on their upcoming album.

As previously reported, former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan was initially on board to pluck the four-string on the group's next album, but left to pursue other projects. Representatives for Jane's Addiction have confirmed to Spinner that Sitek would be filling in for McKagan.

The Jane's album doesn't have a title or release date just yet, but in a press release, frontman Perry Farrell said, "Dave [Navarro], Steve [Perkins] and I are fully immersed in the process of making modern music. It has been a great experience thus far, and the results have so much potential."

It was also confirmed that the group have tapped Franz Ferdinand/Muse producer Rich Costey to work on the album.
