Toronto-based songwriter/cellist Michael Peter Olsen has announced a new album, Narrative of a Nervous System, coming October 27 via Hand Drawn Dracula

Being raised by two musicians, Olsen started learning the cello at a young age, but never really connected to the classical compositions he was taught. He found his stride playing with bands like Hidden Cameras, Jim Guthrie, Constantines and Arcade Fire. Narrative of a Nervous System is said to see him dive deeper into post-modernist music styles and features guest performances by Owen Pallett, Màiri Chaimbeul, Yamantaka // Sonic Titan's Alaska B and Zoon

To coincide with the album announcement, Olsen has shared the lead single "So Far So Good," a composition blending acoustic and electric cello sounds to give a sense of endless space and movement.
