Toronto Is Getting Another New Concert Venue

Crowsnest Corner is opening at Dundas and Carlaw

After learning of Drake's new History concert venue making its way east of the DVP, Toronto's Leslieville neighbourhood is now due for yet another new venue later this summer — and this one will cater to an outdoor crowd.

Crow's Theatre has just opened performer submissions for a new outdoor stage it's calling the Crowsnest Corner, a mid-size venue at the corner of Dundas Street East and Carlaw Avenue.

According to a release, the Crowsnest is looking for "local solos, duos, and trios, in genres including but not limited to jazz, bluegrass, folk, classical, blues, R&B, soul, country, reggae, soft-pop-rock and everything in between," to apply for 45-minute sets beginning later this summer.

Because of its residential setting, Crowsnest Corner will stick to early-evening performances to avoid noise complaints, so shows will begin most nights at 8 p.m. ET.

Further serving its community, the venue has pledged to fill its artist roster with at least 50 percent of artists who belong to the 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, disabled and other equity-seeking communities.

The venue is currently taking artist submissions for performances in late summer to early fall. Learn more at the Crow's Theatre website.
