The City of Toronto has kept their word: Mayor Olivia Chow and other local officials have unveiled the newly named Taylor Swift Way ahead of the pop star's arrival for her Eras Tour concerts later this month. The unofficial street covers the route along John Street, Blue Jays Way, Front Street and Queen Street West, stretching from Nathan Philips Square to the Rogers Centre.
Toronto's city council approved the renaming back in July, and the honorary signs will be donated to Daily Bread Food Bank for auction after Swift's six Toronto shows. Rogers is footing the bill and will match funds raised up to $113,000.
Mayor Chow shared in a statement, "It's our honour to welcome Taylor Swift to Toronto for nearly a fortnight of music and magic. We hope fans are enchanted by their walk down Taylor Swift Way and will generously support the auction of these signs — each a keepsake for evermore that will help a great cause."
Swift will play the Rogers Centre November 14–16, and 21–23.
