Ready to start a new chapter in their career, Floridian stoner rock crew Torche have announced the details behind their upcoming debut for Relapse Records. Dubbed Restarter, the act's fourth full-length arrives February 24.
As previously reported, band bassist Jonathan Nuñez took on production duties for the record, as he had on previous recordings like 2012's Harmonicraft, with the sessions taking place at his Pinecrust Studio in Miami. Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou was tapped to mix the set.
A tracklisting for Restarter has yet to be revealed, but an interview with Rolling Stone back in the spring had Nuñez suggesting it would be a 10-song effort. "Minions" is said to be "a heavy '80s pop song," while Nuñez described a track tentatively titled "Bishop in Arms" as mixing a "real pounding rhythm section" with vocals reminiscent of the Psychedelic Furs.
A statement from singer/guitarist Steve Brooks added, "Restarter is moody and still very much a Torche record."
Up above, you'll find the newly revealed artwork, which was prepped by Santos (Kylesa, High on Fire). Down below, you'll find a batch of upcoming U.S. and European concert dates.
