Montreal-based indie darlings TOPS have announced a new EP, Empty Seats, out May 10 via their own label Musique TOPS.
Alongside the announcement, they've also released a new single, "Perfected Steps," a tune about a "right-wing aging loser clinging to their glory days, values out of sync with reality," according to vocalist Jane Penny.
Penny added in a statement, "It feels like for some reason people like this still have an enormous presence in everybody's lives and it's super irritating. We thought that maybe if we write a song placing this mentality in the past where it belongs we could bully this vibe peacefully out of existence."
Empty Seats also contains the previously released singles "Waiting" and "Party Again."
TOPS have mapped out a handful of Ontario tour dates in April ahead of a jaunt around Europe this spring and summer. Listen to "Perfected Steps" below, where you'll also find the band's upcoming Canadian tour schedule.
