While updates on Tool's long-awaited fifth album were scarce last year, frontman Maynard James Keenan has now confirmed that the group's latest effort has been completed.
Taking to Twitter today, Keenan revealed he had finished tracking his final vocal takes "months ago," and that the effort was now undergoing the "long process of mixing."
Keenan also revealed that in the meantime, he would shift his focus to new material with his Puscifer project.
Tool's new album has yet to receive a release date. At a fan clinic event last year, the band confirmed that every song on the LP is runs over 10 minutes in length.
Last year, Keenan and his bandmates in A Perfect Circle released Eat the Elephant, which marked their first album in 14 years.
