Tool are slated to kick off a run of tour dates in North America this weekend, and a month removed from pranking listeners with the promise of new material, the band's Adam Jones has shared a snippet of something that could appear on the band's long-awaited new album.

On Instagram, the guitarist posted a clip of him "Getting ready for Sunday" by previewing a new riff, referencing the band's May 5 appearance at Jacksonville, FL's Welcome to Rockville festival.

You can watch him play the track on a Fernandes Nomad Deluxe travel guitar below. The riff's opening section is similar to a part of "Descending," an unreleased song that the band have included in live sets over the past few years.

Jones also included some clever hashtags alongside the video, including "#MakingDreamsComeTrue" and "#TheFastingIsOver." While Tool's forthcoming album has yet to receive a concrete release date, a March appearance at Bob Ludwig's Gateway Mastering Studios indicated that a release wasn't far away.

In February of this year, frontman Maynard James Keenan said to expect the album to see release "between mid May and mid July." Tool last delivered 10,000 Days in 2006.
