Vancouver thrash metal outfit Titans Eve are set to release their sophomore album Life Apocalypse on July 13, but you can give it a listen right now here on Exclaim.ca.
The new record follows the group's 2011 debut The Divine Equal and was recorded at Perfect Fifth Studios in Calgary. The band took on production duties with the help of Sacha Laskow, approaching the process differently this time around.
In a press release, guitarist Kyle Gamblin explained that Life Apocalypse "was more of an aggressive attempt at writing and recording an album." Titans Eve recorded the LP over the span of the month, but "bunkered down" in the studio every day during that time.
The band describe the new release as a concept album that thematically represents "a personal apocalypse on a broad scale." It's no coincidence that the album is timed to arrive in 2012, being deemed the "perfect musical end for the perfect apocalypse." Album cuts like lead single "Destined to Die," "The Void" and "The Abyss" certainly seem to fit the motif.
Back with 11 new tracks on Life Apocalypse, you can hear the forthcoming album from West Coast thrashers Titans Eve below. Also, you can check out all the band's upcoming Canadian dates here.
