After receiving the remix treatment from Daniel Lanois last week, Tinariwen are letting UK crew the Antlers mess up the desert blues template via a revamp of "Toumast Tincha."
The new remix from Antlers member Peter Silberman is a spaciously-paced affair, with the lean groove of the Emmaar track being slathered in a Vaseline-thick coating of reverb and distortion. The vocals come through a little less clearly, sounding as if captured during a bad-connection phone call.
You'll find the hazier exploration of the already hypnotic track down below.
The remix comes ahead of tonight's (November 10) "Anti-Thesis" show at Brooklyn's Masonic Temple. The night was curated by Lanois, and features sets from him, Tinariwen, and the Antlers.
