Daniel Lanois has a new album called Flesh and Machine out and another one on the way, but he's still finding time to take on remix projects. Having recently remixed a tune for the Antlers, he's now remixed one for African desert blues band Tinariwen.
Lanois took on their song "Adounia Ti Chidjret," and interestingly, he did so live while being driven around Toronto in a 1972 Fleetwood Brougham. The results are hypnotic and psychedelic, but without compromising the earthy, bluesy quality of the song.

This is being released to promote "Anti-Thesis," an upcoming show curated by Lanois at Brooklyn's Masonic Temple on November 10. It showcases artists from the Anti- roster, and Tinariwen are on the bill. Hear the remix below [via Noisey].
