Tim Hecker, better known as Jetone (the minimal house producer for Force Tracks), has released an exceptional ambient album on Substractif. Though there are 19 tracks on this CD it seems more like an hour of continuous atmospheric drone, and I mean that in the best sense. Comprised of laptop generated sounds, piano and guitar, Haunt Me... is saturated with voice and sound samples instilling the sense of walking into an abandoned haunted mall where the ghostly sounds contribute and become an integral part of the atmospheric wallpaper. The sounds on this album brim with emotion, reaching summits of intensity, as exemplified in "The Work of Art in the Age of Cultural Overproduction." For fans of Fennesz, Hazard and Eno, you can't go wrong with this superb release. Tim Hecker is really creating an impressive musical track record for himself with each release.
