Earlier this year, a musician named on4ward recreated Radiohead's In Rainbows using entirely Super Mario 64 sounds, and the results were so impressive that Jonny Greenwood himself tweeted out his approval. Now, on4ward has made a sequel: OK Nintendo 64.
As the title suggests, this one is a recreation of 1997's OK Computer. It's even more ambitious than In Rainbow Roads; while that prior album was almost entirely made using Mario sounds, this one uses a range of other games as well, like Banjo Kazooie (and Banjo Tooie), Star Fox 64, Goldeneye 007, two different Zelda games, and more.
The results are sometimes hilarious (like Wario's voice in "Paranoid Android"), often nostalgically beautiful, and consistently impeccable.
