Not long after his MAGA-induced grandstanding in late April, Kanye West delivered single "Lift Yourself," which was — by all lyrical accounts — total shit. However, his G.O.O.D. Music president and collaborators Pusha-T claims an alternate version exists.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Pusha said that the song's beat "is so fire, and I think that shows his level of confidence and arrogance."
He added: "Listen, it's a real single that even has real other lyrics to it, so on and so forth, and he's like 'Yo, nah, I'mma show you. You know what? I'mma throw this out and show them what I think of all that. It's nothing.'"
For those uninitiated, West's initial version of "Lift Yourself" finds some of his trademark soul chops giving way to hokey lyrics "Poopy dee scoop / Scoop diddy whoop / Whoop dee scoop dee poop," prefaced by West humorously hyping up his own pen game.
Both West and Pusha-T have enough on their plate after some disses on the latter's DAYTONA LP placed the pair straight in Drake's lyrical crosshairs for diss track "Duppy Freestyle."
That beef also inadvertently started another war of words between Kim Kardashian and recurring West collaborator Rhymefest over something deeper than rap.
