It seems like listeners won't have to wait much longer for the Weeknd's next album. The R&B singer-producer is sharing details about the release of his forthcoming album, The Dawn Is Coming.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Weeknd — a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye — detailed the follow-up to 2020's After Hours, which is set to be completed by the end of August. He also talked about the HBO series he's developing with Euphoria creator, Sam Levinson.

"Yeah, I'm finishing the new album right now. It should be done by the end of this month and we're just kind of figuring out when to put it out," he shared. "It's been really cool because I'm working on this album this summer simultaneously with the writer's room for the new TV show. So, I've been kind of going back and forth from finishing the album and pending up the show that we're going to start shooting soon. It's been quite a summer."

The TV series, tentatively titled The Idol, is set to follow a female pop singer who falls in love with an enigmatic Los Angeles club owner who is also secretly a cult leader. The singer will be co-writing and starring in the show.

When discussing the evolution in his sound, Tesfaye explained: "It's organic, but you know, I don't want to force it. If I'm enjoying a sound or I'm feeling something and it's inspiring me, then I'll stay in that world."

He continued: "I do try to change it up as much as I can, but it's gotta feel organic."

The Weeknd also shared that his struggles with creating a work-life balance. "I don't even know what winding down really means. I love to work. I love my job. I love to create," he said.

Lucky for us, the Weeknd's hustle has produced some of the best R&B music of the 2010s, and it doesn't seem like he'll be stopping anytime soon.
